A little about a lot, a lot about nothing

West Texas Road Trip 2011

Valentine, TX

This town with a population of around 200 is one of those places where you can send mail on Valentine’s Day to get a special post mark on your envelope. It also had an interesting abandoned general store I went to explore, as well as the loneliest Prada store in the world.

Kent & Balmorhea, TX

A couple of towns I stopped in along the way, with beautiful views and some cool old ruins.

Sierra Madera Meteor Crater (Astrobleme)

A long time ago, a meteor carved this 8-mile-wide crater in West Texas. For reference points showing where the pictures were taken, take a look at this map. The signs on the road claim that you’ve hit the south end of the crater, when in fact you still have a while to go. Next time I’ll get pictures from the other end.
